I noticed that I hadn't posted in a while. It's been for good reasons, busy with work, family, coaching running and generally enjoying a full life. But it brought to mind the question that I've heard a lot “How do you find the time to train?”
Well, as the saying goes, we all have the same number of hours in the day as Beyonce. On the flip side of that few of us have multiple personal nannies and other assistants to help us make it through our day. However, I feel that there are numerous examples of people, myself included, who manage to work full time, have a family and still fit in training time. Is my training as perfect and productive as it might be if it was my number one priority? No. Is it still worth the effort that it takes? Absolutely.
It an be hard to fit running into a routine, especially when you’re starting out. However, I believe that we are what we do consistently. You may want to sleep in, or scroll through your social media, or watch TV, or lay on the couch and count the ceiling tiles. But, every time you choose to lace up your shoes and go for a run instead you are building towards the habit of running. And once running becomes habit, it becomes that much easier to maintain. It becomes who you are and what you do. When it comes to running you will be able to say “I am Beyonce always” and you will make sure there are enough hours in your day.
